16-valve single overhead camshaft (SOHC) engine
The single overhead camshaft (SOHC) design, thanks to large-displacement cylinders and 16 valves, results in optimal valve timing for improved acceleration and performance. Yamaha’s latest four-stroke technology combines these benefits with an advanced intake and exhaust system design and our unique Multi-Point Fuel Injection (EFI).
Large single throttle body
This innovative system regulates airflow to all four cylinders and provides pulse charging before it reaches the EFI injectors. The air volume can be metered with the greatest precision and adapted to driving behavior and combustion conditions.
DNG digital instruments
The F80 is compatible with Yamaha’s DNG digital instruments (6Y8/6YC) that enable maximum performance and efficiency by displaying various data: a multifunctional tachometer for displaying RPM, running hours, tilt angle, oil pressure, warning lights and variable speed setting, as well as a Speed and fuel management gauge with speed, fuel level and fuel consumption.
Easy engine speed control for manoeuvring
Another feature of the optional digital LAN system is the handy switch on the tachometer, which allows instant control of the engine speed. The speed can be set easily and conveniently in the range from 550 to 1000 rpm in steps of 50 rpm. The result: effortless and relaxed cruising.
Trimming and tilting system with a wide adjustment range
Discover the versatility and power of a Yamaha engine. Fast response with button controls makes trim and tilt fast, smooth, and easy. Wide range control inspires confidence. The negative angle improves acceleration and gets the boat on plane faster.
